What is a Registered Agent for?

A Registered Agent is designated to receive service of process (SOP) when a business entity is a party in a legal action such as a lawsuit or summons, as well as documents from the state in regards to your entity.

All Corporations and LLCs doing business in California are required to designate and maintain a Registered Agent. Failure to properly maintain a Registered Agent will result in negative actions with the state.

Why do I need a Registered Agent?

These may include: Notice of litigation (also called service of process). This notice details who is suing you, in what court, when process was served, the nature of the case and how much time you have to respond. TAX DOCUMENTS-- We receive and forward official state and federal documents as well as state franchise reports or annual reports.
